Stealth Planet Scout: Through techno-organic manipulation Glyaxia has been able to create a vehicle capable of traveling completely undetected in many different environments, including deep space. This vehicle is used to seek out diverse life and other resources so that Glyaxia can add them to the Collective. It transforms so that it can easily traverse any kind of environment.

Dang, what a great start to the new thread! There are so many awesome builds, but I have to point out these two:

Intentionally or not, these are like love-letters to RTS games like Homeworld. Such solid designs that I would not be surprised to see them posted to the official blog at some point. Great job, Joe!

Also, a quick programming note: just like the other communal threads, once we hit 100 pages, we'll be locking it down for posterity and opening up a second (and third, and fourth, and fifth...) thread. Thanks, everyone!

Thanks for the compliments Kranix! I'm starting to find that Vinyl is what I really love to build with. Nothing better for me than sitting there with a big pile of parts, my exact-o knife, and a blowdryer :block-gly:

Glyos vinyl would be very hard for me to build with for two reasons. I only own two figures (and vinyl is very expensive) and I just don't have enough strength to constantly build with it.

Inspired by Rez's build. This is Phanost's steed.

I'm not sure where else to ask this but as I don't have any vinyl figures and due to a combination of their price and a lack of understanding on my part I want to ask, how does the vinyl work? Do you actually cut pieces out in order to put them together? I enjoy seeing what's built here, especially from MaxEPadd, but personally wouldn't want a Glyos toy that I had to cut in order to build with and am only recently getting to the point with my regular pieces that I don't mind leaving some of my figures as they come. I could see doing this with a vinyl figure if it struck the right chords but overall probably not since the main appeal of Glyos for myself is the building aspect. I'm not fond of the sensation that I'm potentially missing out on an intriguing aspect of the toys but can't convince myself to jump in on vinyl without knowing more. I guess the short of it is, how do the vinyl figures work build-wise with each other and regular bits and do you have to knife your toys for it to be doable?

The vinyl works just like the figures by having the peg and port system. I usually need a blow dryer to soften it up, and I end up cutting into a lot of it to make stuff. You don't need to cut it to mix up parts like on an armodoc or super crayboth, or switch parts on rigs and blocks. Cutting it and making new ports can open up a ton of possibilities.

It is tough at first to cut up your toys, but it becomes pretty fun after you try it out. I would recommend picking up some wedges, pegs, a block or two, and a rig the next time there's a vinyl release.
