That's what I was thinking on Space Commander. Passed on it and only got Pheyden, but now I think I need to go back for Commayder at 10:30 in case it's the Sarvos I was hoping for.

The guess is Space Commander homage this time. Matt got a batch of gray scarfs with the Combo Suit's axis joint set so I suspect a Pheyden using that as a beard. Though a random Elder Exellis would be appropriate and a fun surprise.

Are scarves run on the same mold as Axis sets? Sounds interesting.

I don't think Commayder will have a scarf, because it's 13 parts to Vekurrek's 14. I ordered one. Probably won't keep it if it isn't Sarvos, but didn't want to chance it.

Considering Phanoid came with a complete extra set that wasn't mentioned in the part count nor was it hinted at in the price, I'm not putting anything passed Matt on these.

Yep. Well phanost head on pheyden body with an xtra set. I think it will look alot like the vekurrek but without the brown on the arms or chest and that selogo symbol centered on chest (it looks similar to the symbol on commanders chest) and a grey phanost head. And grey extra set.
Just a guess, of course.

Probably. Should have ordered more weapon sets last drop for heavier arming. I put in for a couple more Glyans to mix Red/Blue and Blue/Yellow up with Swings. All of the DSG Hubs will just be little Drones roaming around.

I wonder if the 'may' in Commayder is more of a play on the month of this drop? I am really hoping for something other than another Pheyden, but with the 'y' i'm skeptical. Interested to see how Matt chose to interpret the humanlike color scheme from Space Commander, up to this point all of the Mystery figures have been very alien/robotic in their design, so a strait homage to a white bearded guy could be a strange shift.

I hope we get something unique this go round like we got with Phanoid, that was a huge surprise, and it payed off well. I really like Rayexx as well, but both were trans figures which I'm partial to. Pheytron was a pretty great homage paint wise, but didn't quite capture my imagination like the other two did. I'm kind of afraid that Commayder will be a little less glitzy than the other two and more inline with Pheytron, relying more on paint apps to match the original.

Time will tell...In the end the fun of it is the Mystery after all!

I am as well, the Yellow DSG was what had me the most excited, then that Trans Yellow showed up in the Neo Granthan and Evolver set, I'm so psyched for these the Axilloid looks rad in this colorway!!!


Wonder when these new creatures will get some glylore of their own?

You're probably right. Could be wishful thinking on my part since i gave that last extra set away and it was the only sarvos head/torso i had. A grey extra set would be cool.

I've also given a bit of thought to what podunk and Rez have said earlier in the thread. It would be nice to have a little bit more promotion from Onell than we've been getting the past few waves. The Neo Gatekeeper wave in 2013 hooked me for good on this habit with the combination of ace photography from Onell and a tie in comic (in installments) from Ralph Niese. That led me in turn to the Soul of the Traveler passcode movie and started me down a long and continually growing rabbit hole. A perfect storm to catch my cupidity.
Now I'm not sure why the last comic just died in mid stream but it stands to reason that the comic aspect is gone for good. Too bad so sad and all that jazz. Oh well.
Passcode videos and games take lots of time and effort to nail down. I have four kids so I know that free time as a parent is hard to come by and treasured when it does appear. Matt has kids, he has his hands involved to greater or lesser extent with all of the sister properties, and as such time is no more abundant for him than it is for me. Probably less so.
But this turning off of the flow of information, sprinkled here and there infrequently with bits of arcane lore, won't do any favors toward growing the brand. I have to think this is intentional. There's only so much a small team can do and perhaps things have grown to the point where they could run off the rails if growth continues. Again, too bad. Of course this is speculation.
Is the brand dying? I don't know. Things always seem to be balanced on a precarious and moving razor's edge.
With that in mind, I bought a little more than I otherwise would given the rather simple color offerings. You always remember your first time but you're rarely aware of your last with anything in life.

I also miss the back and forth among the fanbase. That seems gone for good.

Yeaaaa, some things don't translate well into travelers... human characters for instance.
Shoulda been a Glyan, or better yet a different homage all together. Least the body is pretty cool I suppose. Maybe I'll like it better in hand.

I think if you have a white scarf laying around, that will make it look decent. But the flesh colored eyes are a little weird looking, even if its accurate to the original.

I agree that a white scarf would make it better but for me its mostly because it'd double as the beard.
