Well it's finally here, the return to the mysteriously Macabre.

It looks to me like that tampo is applied to the classic Glyan head. Very cool, can't wait to see what color of PVC!

From the blog back in September.

Matt:
Both of those molds [Villser & Noboto] are off world this time, but next month they should see some action in one form or another.

...No Renegades in this round, but next month should scratch some of that itch.

...some of the upcoming late October wave contains characters for what was almost another Mystery theme.

And from the new teaser post yesterday.

Matt:
... odds are good for a little bit of mechanical action.

So needless to say, Armorvor's are a definite. Glyan is pretty much certain with the teaser headline Halkenn's Grave. And a good chance for Noboto and Villser as well as Gobon or some type of Gendrone.

I hope we get some more of the new Armorvor heads this drop - I missed out last time.

Most assuredly we'll see those new heads, but I'm curious if we'll see them as the bonus head and wing pack again. It could be a lot of fun to see those bonus heads and wings used to build with the Villser or Noboto figure plus a set of Axis joints.

Matt has confirmed both Armorvors and head packs, so be sure to be there Thurs!

My first conclusion jumped to when I saw the teaser vid was the return of Callgrim, though that is apparently incorrect. I guess it's more of a glyan tampo teaser? In any case, I'm all for Halkenn's return (and demise?).

Also confirmed is "mechanical action" though that is unclear if Matt means more Renegades or a Toyfinity crossover (which I would be super into).

Also confirmed is Phaos as well as no vinyl.

Further information, as of 11/5:

New Items

  • None suggested.

Sculpts

  • Available: Nine sculpts total, including Armovor, Armorvor Extra Set, Pheyaos, Renegades and "limited" matching Accessories (cryptically hinted at?), Glyan (assumed), Noboto / Qualleran (last month), and Villser (last month).
  • Not Appearing: Any vinyl.
  • Crossovers: Toyfinity (weapon set), other crossovers "not presented in the way that you might expect." (via Matt)

Colors and Colorways

  • Six different PVC colors, including orange.
  • Pheyaos will only be available in one colorway.
  • One color "took a few rounds to get just right, but the final result is something pretty neat and unique. It's also gross!" (via Matt)

Future Waves

  • No information provided.

Continuing from the response above, we absolutely have some new buddies for old Pheydotep to roll with. When displayed all together, these figures represent what was intended to be a new Mystery Series subset, but we ended up keeping them contained to the Halkenn connected waves instead.
- Matt

I'm gonna guess Universal movie monsters? Last year we got the The Mummy, The Wolfman, and a vampire/Dracula (and more)...perhaps this year we'll get a Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Phantom of the Opera ?

With each creature that he eliminates, Halkenn's hunger grows.

And it's not for waffles.

I could be totally off but I took this as a crytic reference to Stranger Things. Could Halkenn be mutating to a Demogorgon-esque monster as his hunt continues?

That's a pretty astute observation.

Thanks. If it ends up true it's sure to be an interesting item. That said...I did have let my mind wander pretty far on other clues.

Again, this is just another shot in the dark based on Matt's hints. When asked about a crossover he said it was more of a "crossfusion". He also said this:
It's very John Carpenter in inspiration, though presented in our usual abstract weirdo way.

That all said, my "guess" does lean more towards what I want to see based on those comments so take that in consideration. I'm thinking it'll be a multi-item build that's inspired by the alien from The Thing. I'm thinking a Bio Monster (either complete or the limb/tentacle parts) with a Villser and/or axis joints or all three. Taking my theory one step further, the Villser and The Thing have a similar nature since they share absorption/mutating characteristics.

The John Carpenter reference could be something else entirely. Maybe it's a figure painted to look like Michael Myers, maybe the hinted Renegade is candy apple red inspired by Christine, or maybe it's just about Halkenn being a one eyed hero like Snake Plissken. The teaser also calls back to the Diversus Mutants from last Halloween's drop with the shared forehead brain. The original Diversus Orbitron was insired by the Metaluna Mutant but...the colors coincidentally look like the aliens from They Live, no?

The new trans flesh color is very intriguing, I can't wait to see it in hand. If this new colorway is what I'm hoping its going to resemble. Then I look forward to seeing the other makers run this in the very near future.

Last night was pretty stressful for me because I knew it would be very busy with new blood in the waters and so much attention to the glyoverse thanks to the recent video from The Crafsman.
Just when you thought you missed out on one thing, you realize its actually much more! Put down the gun, noose or knife and call now!!!
