Onell April 2018 Drop: Internal Struggle

i'm having an internal struggle of my own, i convinced myself it was gonna be ZED/ZRU and now i'm disappointed but i know it's my fault for thinking it was a sure thing

Either way, this is looking to be a good drop! I predict the return of Mordireus from the tampo shown on the pink background, and perhaps we'll also get Neo Gatekeeper?

Not sure what the orange is. Perhaps EMD or Rig Crew?

"Looking down the road a bit, we'll be rolling out our next wave in early April, which will wrap up the mini Real Type trilogy of releases that started in January. Expect some colors that line up well alongside both the Glyaxia Rangers and Task Force Volkriun assortments."

Taking that into account along with the orange in the gif + Matt's comment "The orange serves as an accent on another set of figures in this wave, with callbacks to more than one old team" makes me feel rather confident (well as much as one can be when it comes to Onell surprises, amirite? I mean, I'm usually wrong) that this third Real Type will be some variation on the Esedeth colors. Fits in with the whole Point Cerrek storyline from the past two drops, too. No Mordireus according to one of Matt's comments. "Clear Raspberry with bubblegum accents" sounds fun though. Somewhere between Xycoss and that lone pink Dimension Drifter from last year perhaps?

"Oh yeah, and the Villser are most definitely in recruitment mode." Sounds like the Villser symbol will be showing up on someone else, like the Pheyden from a few drops back.

I love your thinking about a return to Esedeth, it was my first introduction to an Onell 'real-type" wave, and it slowly grew on me as time progressed, Hell, I'm still picking up a stray EMP commando glyan here and there.

It is totally in line with the story! After all, it's been two years since we last saw the Esedeth crew.

I seem to remember there was a previous Esedeth colorway way before my time


I'm curious if this will be a glyan, villser, Buildman heavy drop, or if we'll get a few more gendrones this round...

Both Odesskar Outpost and Skatteriun teams are also Real Color colorways with orange accents as well, now that I think about it, so it could be some combo of any of those. I lean more towards Esedeth due to the direct story connection though.

The only reason I'd be skeptical about Esdeth is that we've revisited Esdeth colors a lot in recent years. Granted, that's never prevented more frequent revisited colorways (see: Pappysoup / TFV green), but I wonder if each of those Esdeth-like waves would be counted as a separate "old team" as referenced by the comment.

That being said, I'm guessing that Sunday's drop will follow the same pattern as the last two:

• a Neo Sarvos and a Glyan in Glyaxia regalia, with the small chance of including an RF kit in the same deco;
• a Villser, largely unpainted, in a clear colorway; and
• any additional Villser-aligned figures to include a standard Pheyden and possibly an unarmored Qualleran.

The only variation I can anticipate right away is either Cinar or Argenesis to make more of the mysterious Gendrone at play in this drop, and even then, I'm not sure which of the two it could be. (In fact, does Argenesis still even count as a Gendrone?)

From what I know there's still a lot planned out, we know just for starters that Villser is getting an Extra Set to bring another character to life and Matt tends to make plans years in advance. It's just a fact of anything, it won't last forever, I think he's just speaking of in terms of "before it's over", rather than suggesting an imminent doom.

So maybe I missed something or I just don't have memory for non-Transformer faction symbols, but is the orange one in the teaser a new design? Cause it reminds me of a Syclodoc head... and I just noticed the center of the Armodoc chest resembles the look of Villser's...

Maybe something in line with the final build from this post? That larger arm could pass for an "infected" sort of tech.

Oohhhhh. Gosh, that's a pretty colorway. I could see it building really well with Skaterriun.

Here's what Xycoss Argenesis came with: Special Edition build includes 2 Axis Joint Sets, 2 Swing Joint Sets, 1 Hub Set, 1 Phase Arm Set, 2 scarves, 1 extra Argenesis head and a full Glyarmor set (including both Glyarmor heads and all limbs). Comes assembled in Argenesis form with Code Crusher and Viral Cannon arm attachments. 88 total parts.

I am also excited for the Buildstation stuff, since I think I have been clamoring quietly for that over the years. Clear is fine, but I would rather have solid colors for testing out builds. Now we just need Buildmen and Phaseons...

Triple Stalker! What an amazing contained build... edging closer to the 'Old War' style Villser.

Man, I felt like I was going really light this round with only two figs......


...but then dropped an unmentionable amount on the build parts. Grabbed the orange, grey, and white to spruce up a number of other builds I have from previous drops, and then went back the next day to grab enough of those pink bits to be able to make an argenesis, pathfinder, astroloc combo suit, and the buggy from the Selogo drop (not all at the same time, that would just be crazy). With the awesome paint job on the hub set I'm really looking forward to seeing a villser infected astroloc in that colorway!
