the Alien Mercenaries Photo Comic is back!!!!

Wow, NINE YEARS have passed since I posted the 1st episode of the Alien Mercenaries photo comic over in the (now defunct) October Toys Forum. And it has been roughly EIGHT YEARS since I made a new episode of Alien Mercenaries: Season 2.

That is a loooong time.

What is funny, and completely coincidental, is Alien Mercenaries 1st episode was posted in early June 2009 so it litterally has been 9 years. With 8 years passing from Season 2's 10th episode, I decided to call this current series "Alien Mercenaries Return" and this way it is wrapping up plot points left unexplained.

First episode came out last Monday and the second episode just went up this morning. Here are links to the new episodes:

Bah’glenn, I literally just this morning posted a reply to you on the Onell blog. I said how much I missed the old alien mercenaries photo comic you used to do. Because of your comment, I got waxing nestalgic and came over to the GC to see what was here thinking maybe I should start a throwback Thursday thread or something to relive old memories. I just happened to see this and about fell over!!!! I’m not sure if anyone else is looking (based on you last comment) but know that I am here and will get myself caught up and be waiting for each episode! You rock dude!!!

I finished up through episode 4, great work I can’t wait to see how the battle turns out. One question, Men’tohst body where is that from? I’m not recognizing it. I’m thinking it’s from a sister line but it just doesn’t look familiar to me.

Hey Acro Pheyden!! Great to see you make it back to check out the new episodes! The battle will be good but go in a way not typical for huge battle scenes.

That is one of the Zullen figures from the zullbeast.com website. Men'tohst, in the 8 years the 'Mercs have been out of it, has amassed about a dozen or more thralls from the prisoners inside the P.M.P., random other aliens who were shunted to Sol-3 as well as the 'Mercs friends of Rip'sww, Tikk'tikk, Gr'owwgle and Tri'bahl. With all that mental energy flowing into him, it empowers him, makes him stronger and unlocks mental abilities he lost while being emaciated in the P.M.P. all those years.

One of those powers that was first made available to him was to speak through his enthralled which we see here for the first time and then in the Lost Episode from Season Two "The Fate of Gorrrg the Hunter". He will use this ability often in the series and you will see more abilities as we move through the season.

And I miss the OTF boards too.

Yeah is did eventually figure where the body came from. Once I started snooping around I found the Zullbeast thread and figured it out. Would like to get one but I really have limited funds so stick mostly to just Onell but maybe will try at some point to get one as a representative for my collection.

It's definitely a cool figure, the design of the armor and robotic head was done by Matt Doughty, but 2 different people sculpted the alien heads and the armor. I own just those 3 seen in the comic, paint apps jack up the price on any Glyos these days so their bare bones versions are closer to $12 which is not too bad. Onell has been doing this longer so they do not have to recoup the cost of their molds as quickly as the newer guys do.
