Even for proven Glyos creators, I thought eight figures at once in a new line was ambitious, but holy crap, that was an amazingly fast sell out. Almost banked on these sticking around for a while, glad I jumped on them now. Didn't get the unpainted ones cause I wanted to see them in hand before figuring out what I wanted to do for customs, hope that style of release is the norm.

I wonder what they compared this to for planning? I'm guessing these are more popular than most of the Weaponeers of Monkaa releases.

From the word on Facebook it sounds like these colors are done for now but may reappear down the line. Now I am even more bummed about missing out on everything. Glyos can be a heartless mistress.

I wonder if a lot of sales were outside of the usual Glyos circle. Like a lot of He-Man fan buy in.

Didn't seem like a lot of buzz around here, but then again, things have been a lot slower on the boards ever since the switch from the October Toys site. Does everyone just use Facebook/Twitter/Instagram now?

Looking at the artwork for the t-shirt, it's pretty likely that one of the next figures will be sold focusing on the lizard/dino head in purple. That leaves the first "standard edition" of the wolf mask guy as the character in the background. His face looks green, but since there was the green orc this go-round, I'm guessing GITD with black paint apps.

If that's the case, and there will be a unpainted GITD version to go along with it, please produce a lot more of those, 'cause I could go for an army of them.

I have a quick question. Judging by a lot of the images posted on Instagram throughout the week, it seems like quite a few people already had these long before they went on sale last night. How is that?

On Facebook they said they aren't planning on doing another run of the first wave. Unless some of the same colors make an appearance in the second wave that means we'll end up with a lot of extra heads that are much less useful than they would have been otherwise. Hopefully they reconsider because parts swapping is much less of a selling point if you have nothing to swap parts with.

It's great to see that Glyos stuff can be so hawt! I am sure the dudes at SMC will adjust and were being super conservative with the new line. I haven't witnessed any hype like what Battletribes put out there, granted I have only been around Glyos and toy collecting for about a year. I also thing there was a lot of cross over from He-Man fans. Heres to more runs of these original colors in the near future, I mean who doesn't want an Orc army.

Hey it looks like they might be considering this (re-stock would be great), doing a survey on Instagram right now. Glyos companies always listen/respond, part of the pleasure of collecting is this community.

Actually, it looks like quite a few regular folks got them way ahead of the drop. Seems kind of unfair when so many people missed out, that so many were able to get them early. Just saying...

People miss out on all kinds of things, though. If SMC has a lot of regular people who are pretty much always buying every wave or really big on collecting across a lot of glyos lines, why wouldn't they sell/send out some early as a pre-release to drum up some hype for the new line? It's their product, they can promote it how they like. It seemed to work and a few toy sites carried the news further out which possibly brought in new people. If you missed out, simply leave them a note you would have liked to get some (or some more than you already did with the limits) and they can decide if they want to re-run the colors (or some of the more demanded colors) or just move on to wave 2.

Unfair? Are you seriously suggesting that Spy Monkey should forego publicity for a new line so that in case of an unexpectedly quick sellout a few more people could have got their hands on them? I get that people are disappointed they either couldn't get these or get as many as they wanted but let's not be ridiculous. A few review or promotional samples didn't make a difference here.

Same thing happened to me, except I hadn't ordered the unpainted red. And, yeah, missing out on the plain dudes is better than having one of the painted figures get snatched. That would have actually made me kinda mad.

Growing pains. Hopefully they'll get a handle on the numbers pretty quick.

Shipping notice!!!...and then partial refund. I ordered one of everything and will not be getting the dx Orc or any of the blank figures. Ugh. They will definitely need to adjust their totals next time. Hopefully none of these will show up in eBay.

Poor guys, I know the stock/oversold is the last thing they want to happen. Just received PayPal notice that my entire order was refunded (felt lucky to land all 8 figs). Spymonkey is experienced, so this really was an overwhelming situation for them. As problems go, this is a good one to have as we'll likely see things move fast-forward with the success/confidence behind Tribes to really put out some (more) amazing stuff. Bummed I won't get my 'Conan' yet, but I'm game for Wave 2; it'll be worth the wait!

This is what I'm talking about. Obviously this was a very conservative release to test the waters. If you're not going to have a large amount of stock, I don't think it's right that a select group of people (and I'm not talking about popular toy reviewers) get special privileges before a drop. Obviously, the limited stock affected a good number of people's orders, but as I said before, I saw quite a few non-reviewer folks posting pics of their figures on Instagram days before the drop.

Again, just saying. I didn't order any figures, but if I did, and any or all of my order was refunded, I'd be pissed knowing a select group of people around here were allowed first crack long before the official drop.
