What's Your Current Geeky Obsession(s)

What are you geeking out about for the moment? Maybe you've stumbled upon a new comic, game or movie, or perhaps you're geeking over an old standby. For me Gremlins, Skeletor and ED-209 tend to be some of my geeky mainstays. Share your current obsession, let us in on you what you're digging and why!

At the moment I'm currently rereading a lot of Jack Kirby's Fourth World stuff, Darkseid has captured me! Jack Kirby had so much wild stuff going on, it's easy to get swept back into the battle between Apokolips and New Genesis.

I'm slowly investing more money into Lego Dimensions and Disney Infinity. While Lego Dimensions is still new and expensive, I've learned how to handled Disney Infinity with a brunt of the cost. The secret to that is basically "Used".

I'm also working on a HG Zaku II-S Origin type, but before I finish it, I ordered a Bandai Hobby EXP Weapon set, 001. The one with the Zaku machine gun.

I'm currently watching Star Wars the Clone Wars animated series because I think it's the best Star Wars tv show ever currently with plans to watch Rebels. Then Fear the Walking Dead.

A friend is working on Let's Play projects with plans to include other friends and myself.

And I'm sort of hunting old Trendmaster Godzilla toys, such as the mini head playsets and the armor up figures, but not as actively.

The next time I have spare cash though, I plan to dive into the Nova 2013 comics.

I like to collect obscure toylines from the 80s I had as a kid. It started with Rock Lords a few years ago when I bought a couple at TransformerCon up in Toronto. Next was Rocks & Bugs & Things when Toyfinity starting releasing new mordles. And now it's Robo Force, again due to Toyfinity resurrecting the property.

I've also been collecting M.U.S.C.L.E. figs here and there. I need about 60 more for a complete flesh colored set.

I'd like to get into Sectaurs, but I think my wife might kill me if I start on something new.

I read some comics, but still the first one I want to read every month is The Walking Dead. I love anything by Jeff Lemire or Ed Brisson. I also love the old TMNT stuff, Usagi Yojimbo, and Disney comics.

The current geeky obsession is the Halo Mega Bloks figures. My kids have a collection of this stuff, but I never paid much attention. Well, in the last year or so the line has been completely renovated and the figures have more and better articulation and now have removable armor. These newer designs are much more interesting to me than the older figures and the blind packs are pretty fun to pick up a few here and there. And, my kids love these things as much as Glyos.

cool question

I'm looking forward to getting Vinyl Idolz of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World's End characters.

I'm really into RiffTrax. I saw RiffTrax Live: Miami Connection in the theater last Thursday. I've also gone to the live events of Manos, Night of the Living Dead, Starship Troopers, and Sharknado 2. I've bought some of their streaming downloads to burn to DVD too. I'm a big MST3K fan, especially the Mike Nelson era, so seeing those 3 guys still making fun of bad movies really makes me happy. I fall asleep to a MST3K or RiffTrax movie almost every night.

I also enjoy toy hunting for my kids and watching TMNT, Adventure Time, Regular Show and Teen Titans Go! with them.

I'm into Transformers, Glyos (obviously), Kamen Rider, and Bionicle.

Was gonna stop at just revisiting beast wars/machines/hunters. But thanks to a certain someone, now I've a mad craving for all transformers bikes too. Anyone knows where I can find a definitive list for all those released so far?

Woah! You're my clone, because I've done and do most everything you listed. "Oh My God" and "Orpans" were worth the price of admission to Miami Connection. Have you seen 'Death Promise' yet? It's a good pairing with 'The Guy From Harlem'. And even though they didn't do too many, Cinematic Titanic was pretty good, especially they're live stuff.

Besides Glyos, Marvel Legends, and Transformers, I collect Star Wars (on and off) and Microman/Diaclone/Blockman when I can. Modular Synths eat up some money when I get the itch, and I've racked up a decent music, movie (good, bad, and horrible), and vintage video game collection.

From the moment I got him, I knew the only MUSCLE guy I needed was the dude with the fox head. I've lost him at some point, I should replace it.

I've been playing a lot of Destiny. They released a new expansion, so there's a lot of stuff to unlock and random drops to get. That'll probably keep me busy for a while.

I'm also on Crunchy Roll and trying to get through a few series. I just finished watching Charlotte, which I think was good.

Haven't seen those two yet. 'The Sword & the Sorcerer' is my favorite movie with riffs included download so far. I always liked that movie as a kid anyway. 'The Happening' is the only one I've bought where I had to sync up the riffs file while playing the actual movie on DVD. It was funny, but not as convenient as having the movie and riffs together in one file.

'The Sword & the Sorcerer' was pretty good. There's too many good ones to pick a favorite, but 'The Guy From Harlem' and 'Future Force' are just so ludicrous that they lend themselves well to getting riffed and are in heavy rotation for me.. If you don't like the manual sync, try the Riff-Player. It syncs most movies with the mp3 on a PC or Mac. It works pretty well, and everyone should at least experience their versions of the 'Star Wars Holiday Special', and the Transformers trilogy.

"The guy from Harlem" changed my life. Not in a good way. :D

It opened my eyes and the universe filled my mind... with crap. But I still love this movie.

Same here, in all the mst3k that I've seen I don't think I've seen anything as bad as the guy from Harlem. Even Manos. So much fun to watch.

Yeah, Manos is at least coherent on a fever dream level. The Guy from Harlem took everything cool at the time and filtered out the cool. I mean, there wasn't even any Harlem IN THE MOVIE. Just a guy.

Currently sitting comfortably aboard the Star Wars Force Awakens hype train.
Haven't seriously collected Star Wars since POTF2 in the 90s. So I've been having a good time hunting down the main line of 3.75 inch figures. Coming from a vintage kenner-POTF2 background the 5POA doesn't bother me in the slightest, in fact I like them more than the recent SA 3.75 figs. The packaging is so beautiful I don't intend to remove them anyway.
6" is too rich for my blood and too much of a hassle to find on shelves which is most of the fun for me.
Also been giving in to collecting funko pops which I once vowed to never do... No regrets.
Just picked up Vault Boy and Lemongrab.

Also been obsessing over the comic art of Richard Corben lately. Someone unloaded a ton of rare early underground comics of his at a local bookstore and I bought the entire collection, and have been actively tracking down more for months now. His art then lead me deeper into the writing of HP Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgeson.

And on the music front I've been geeking over some newly discovered metal bands Ne Obliviscaris and Agalloch

Currently planning an elaborate oceans eleven style hiest to get my hands on a life sized BB-8 display from Target... anyone in?
