Hey there, everyone!

I don't remember if we had a thread like this over at OTF, but because we do have some artists in our midsts (including our makers, of course), it might not be a bad idea to have a place to talk shop and share ideas, tips, and answers to questions.

Just to get us started: does anyone here use Micron pens? Someone I know does, and they're having a hell of a time with them drying out. Any ideas or suggestions?

I haven't used Micron pens a whole lot, but I have used similar Staedtler pens and other thin tips a fair amount. There's a couple things about thinner pains that can make them a pain. They can damage easily, so with just the wrong amount of pressure they can be made useless. I try to keep them stored separately from my other pens, with a little more padding to keep them from bumping about too much.

I've also found where and how you buy them can be a big deal. Lots of art stores tend to have pens you can buy individually, and depending on the store you might want to avoid buying them. Especially at a bigger chain store like Michaels. They're pretty much communal pens, and odds are they aren't stocked all that frequently. Unless the pen is in a sealed package it's kind of hard to tell just how many people have taken it out and doodled with it. I've been burned by too many loose Copic markers..
