The Communal Customs Thread! - Part I

Hey there, everyone!

Please use this thread to post customs, kitbashes, and other modified pieces you've done and would like to share with everyone, as well as any feedback or constructive criticism you'd like to give to anyone. Once we hit 100 pages, we'll be locking it down for posterity and opening up a second (and third, and fourth, and fifth...) thread.

(For those joining us from OTF, think of this as the new "Show Off Your Customs!" thread for GC!)

Can't wait to see what everyone has cookin' up!

A couple of recent (and amazingly cool) customs I got from Feedthedead. Just in time for Halloween.

Pardon me but I'd like to start by archiving a post from OTF that I'd hate to see lost. My first collaboration with Ersico and my first win in a forum draw from the ever so awesome dude, kranix. Of course, it's also one of my prized figure.

Hey kranix, your generousity and passion for toys, people and all things fun is just nuts! Thanks for having this contest again. Love seeing all these amazing posts. U DA MAN! :sword:

A Bloody Beginning (abridged)

Me: Hey Eric, I was just musing, what would you conceptualise for a "Blood" themed figure? Bat? Something with a white doc coat and blood filled syringe, canister or blood bag? Mmm. Yeah, I'm sick in that way. Lol

Ersico: Ooohh I love the way you think. Bandages, blood splatter? Dunno about the coat, I don't sew. I can do tubes though. I think a Govurum head would look cool flesh painted but the cap of the head be brain colored.... Just a thought

Me: Oooh... Brains. I like. Yummy. I could do with just white tattered cape like the ones you've done before. I'm thinking overall color scheme of clinical white, blood splatters and cold morgue metal.

Ersico: Let's do it!!! I'm thinking no Vor for base but more of a taller slender doctor. Random but the doctor in the movie "the human centipede" has always given me the creeps

Me: Cold, morgue blood-letter doc. Love the idea too.

[Much pic spams, jabbering and 12 hours later...]

Image

Image

Me:  The ideas, theme, build and colors all come together perfectly. This is as close as I'll ever get to materialising a concept in custom. I'd like to name him.

Dr Yekor, the Blood Artist

It's a play on ichor and my initials. Pardon the narcissism. :P

Ersico: Heck ya, that sounds great to me. Hell, I have worked on him all day it seems.

Me: Think I'm gonna start tearing now...

Here's the good Doctor waltzing to his "Blood Waltz" as he "works".

And that's the first of many crazy custom commissions from an awesome guy I'm proud to call a friend.
Here's to you, ya sicko!

Presenting something I refer to as DRT A/V Robot. He's had a rough time, barely holding together, rust overtaking his body. But he keeps going, for what reason, nobody knows...

Latest custom Vors from Ersico! Volkriun (made for me a while ago), Task Force Volkriun, and Volkriun Space Force. Damn nice color matching and excellent line work. My Volkriun forces are now complete!

New AV Robot custom! Something about this mold always gives me ideas for repaints and I've had this one in mind for a while now. Presenting N.E.S., the Nemo Entertainment Sentry. Granted, not very good as a sentry, unless he's guarding children... in his designated room... come to think of it he may just work at the employee daycare center. Favorite parts include the screen and controller painted a dot at a time with a toothpick and the audio video jacks in the back of the head.

Your skills never fail to impress, TJ. How long did it take you to paint all the toothpick details?

Honestly not all that long, maybe 15 minutes? The dots go on quick, it just takes a steady hand to aim them.
